    Default Trikke Stolen

Well, it finally happened to me! My Trikke was stolen! Fortunately for me, my story has a happier ending than most of the other stolen Trikke stories we've heard.

I've re-posted the story here in my blog from my Facebook note. If anyone wants to read all the details...it's kind of a long story, but some have found it very riveting and entertaining...especially because of the ending! I'm trying to get the crappy cell phone videosall together and posted that I took of the guy who took it after he was caught. They're certainly not great tho.

Anyway...thought I'd just post this story here since it's a major Trikke story, and a few folks from here have seen it already on FB, but the majority of our Trikke family is all here on TrikkeTalk...the best place to post such a story!

The bottom line is that I got complacent with my Trikke...and almost lost it for good. I have learned a huge lesson (and about safety with stuff in the car in general) from this. So that's another reason I wanted to post it in as many places as possible...to remind everyone that you can never be TOO careful with keeping your stuff secure.

Wow, interesting story with a happy ending. But it just made me worry more. In a couple weeks I'm heading into Boston for a Job Fair and I was thinking about parking on a rail trail and trikking to the commuter rail and possibly bring the trikke into Boston with me. However, I am worried about locking the trikke at either the commuter rail station or on the streets around Fenway while I'm in the job fair.

I'm happy that things worked out to a somewhat happy ending.

Well, keep in mind that my situation involved night time, a drunk, crazy dude and a fairly easy to get into car. Having safety and security in mind can help prevent stuff from happening usually. I had gotten far too complacent with my configuration. Never again.

And thank you for your comments! I am still reeling from it all...even from my good fortune of having gotten it back!!!

Here in Florida, it's just people yelling from vehicles, although lately people stop to ask questions about the trikke. Trikking has turned the corner.

chrisintheQ, I'm so glad you got your trikke back and they caught the guy!

Really feels awful being ripped off.

Thanks for the reminder to play it safe.

I am glad that you got your trikke back and that you are safe. BTW was the thief wearing spandex?

LOL!! No...he was not wearing Spandex...and he was so gross that I'm very glad of this, at least! It was actually really cold and he was wearing a big Army type field jacket. But he had a bald head...I bet his head was cold!
